Province - Heredia
The Heredia province of Costa Rica is located in the north central part of the country, it has ten cantons named
Heredia, Barva,
Santo Domingo, Santa Barbara, San Rafael, San Isidro, Belen, Flores, San Pablo and Sarapiqui.
The province sits only 10 kilometers north of the capital of Costa Rica, San Jose, and for this reason attracts many tourists and visitors to its coffee plantations, volcanic national parks and mountain resorts. The mountainous regions of the province has dense tropical forests with roaring waterfalls and rivers, the famous Volcan Barva located in the Braulio Carrillo National Park with cottages and restaurants cooking over coffee wood fires.
Heredia has some industrial zones, but most of the area is dedicated to agriculture growing coffee, vegetables, sugar cane, fruits, corn, beans, dairy-farming, flower and plant exportation.
