Tucked away on the side of dormant Volcan Barva,
a 15 minute stroll from the town itself and a 20 minute drive-away from San Jose
airport, Casa de Flores is a stunning hideaway offering four immaculate
spacious bedrooms. The combined dining and lounge area boasts panoramic windows
and, coupled with the large outdoor veranda, spectacular views can be seen of
the Central Valley including San Jose, the Tilaran Cordillera mountain range,
and neighbouring coffee plantations. The Casa is surrounded by a beautifully
landscaped garden bursting with tropical flowers, fruit trees, singing birds and
an infinity pool, allowing you to awaken to the immense natural beauty that
Costa Rica has to offer.
Rooms:
The Casa boasts four large,
elegant ensuite bedrooms, all of which have beautiful high beamed wooden
ceilings and tiled flooring. The rooms are simple, fresh and spacious. The
Master Suite is the largest room in the casa with a kingsize bed and a huge
ensuite bathroom. The suite has direct access onto the veranda, where comfy
chairs and table overlook the garden and surrounding coffee plantations.
The three standard rooms are also ensuite and
incredibly spacious. One of the three standard rooms opens up onto the veranda
and the other two look over the citrus grove, where lemons, limes and oranges
grow in abundance.
Three of the bedrooms have kingsize beds, one of
the standard rooms with the citrus grove views has twin beds.
Dining:
The food served at Casa De Flores is inspired by
the owner Rob, a professional chef who took his homage from his travels to the
Mediterranean, in particular Spain and Italy.
An array of fruit, herbs and vegetables grow in
the garden of Casa De Flores, where the climate and the fertile land produce
beautiful organic produce, freshly picked that day, completely organic and
incredibly tasty.
There is an abundance of produce to be found in
the small town of Barva offering fishmongers, butchers, fruit and vegetable
stalls. World class cuisine with an international flair is produced bv our
chefs, using a range of local and international products.
Breakfast is included in the price where guests
can mingle and swap travel tales over a large communal wooden table offering the
magnificent views of the Central Valley. Enjoy a feast of yogurt; granola; fresh
fruit; toast, homemade jams and hot breakfast dishes such as the local Gallo
Pinto, to a more continental breakfast. Coffee, tea and fresh fruit juice
are all served.
Lunch and dinner are available with prior notice.
Ceviche, grilled fish in delicate sauces, steak, chicken, salads and cheeses all
make up the menu. Or if you are exploring the Central Valley or beyond, a packed
lunch can be prepared for you, arranged in advance
Stylishly laid out tables along the veranda offers
guests the opportunity to have a more secluded and romantic meal.
A selection of quality wines, beers and spirits
are also available.

area offering incredible views of the Central Valley including San Jose,
the Tilaran Cordillera mountain range, and neighboring coffee plantations. The
dining area boasts a large wooden communal table where guests can enjoy gorgeous
fresh homemade gourmet food and mingle with the other guests and staff.
Comfy sofas encompass the living room
area offering Cable TV, DVD library, book library, music system, Xbox games
console, board games and free tea and coffee available all day.
The Casa opens out onto the 1000sq ft Veranda,
with tables and chairs to enjoy the view of the an one-acre garden, bursting
with luscious fruit trees and a myriad of indigenous plants where you
could spend time ambling amongst the flora and fauna. The infinity pool with
deckchairs is a perfect place to relax, bathing in the sun or mountain water
swimming pool.
Activities:
We can organise all trips including volcanoes,
butterfly farm, national parks, inbioparque, canopy tours, waterfalls, coffee
plantations, herb farms, beach, san jose tours etc...including transport, tour
and food.
Our Location Information: We are located approximately one
kilometer past the town of Barva - up the Barva Volcano in the Province of
Heredia, Costa Rica.
If coming by taxi - our directions are as
follows:
From the Iglesia (Church) in Barva,Heredia continue ~1.5km
North toward San Jose de la Montana.
You will pass a coffee plantation (café
tal) on the left and then you’ll see a big blue house, our gate is black, and is
directly after the blue house on the left- our sign is up out front and our
front wall is bright orange.
